Homemade Skin Care Routine For Dry Skin

If you have dry skin, there are some simple and effective homemade skin care routines you can make. One of these is applying olive oil after bathing. It not only moisturizes your skin but also works as a natural cleanser. Brandy Crompton, a licensed aesthetician and former manager of LeBliss Salon and Spa in Louisville, Kentucky, suggests massaging a few drops of olive oil into the skin and then draping a warm damp cloth over it until it cools. This will clean your skin without stripping the natural oils.

Next, apply a gentle cleanser to your face. If you have dry skin, choose one with an SPF built in. However, if you prefer to use a separate sunscreen, make sure it leaves your skin hydrated and not irritated. To help your dry skin, use a moisturizing face mask or thick, creamy moisturiser at night. Apply it to your entire face, avoiding dry patches.

During the day, you should wash your face with a non-foaming cleanser. This will remove dirt and oil and prepare your skin for a moisturized look. A good drugstore cleanser for dry skin is Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser or CeraVe’s Hydrating Face Wash. To learn more about this routine, visit your dermatologist or esthetician. You’ll be glad you did!
